HOUSTON, May 11, 2010 – ERHC Energy Inc. (OTCBB:ERHE), a publicly traded American company with oil and gas assets in the highly prospective Gulf of Guinea off the coast of West Africa, today announced its results for the second quarter ended March 31, 2010.

As of March 31, 2010, ERHC reported cash assets totaling $20,195,873. During the first quarter, ERHC’s general and administrative expenses were $1,249,339.

“We remain focused on execution of the Company’s business strategy,” said ERHC Chief Executive Officer Peter Ntephe. “Major activities are underway, including analysis of results from five wells drilled in the Nigeria-São Tomé & Príncipe Joint Development Zone (JDZ) blocks in which ERHC has interests, discussions with potential operating partners in the Democratic Republic of São Tomé & Príncipe Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) where ERHC holds 100 percent of two exploration blocks free of signature bonuses and progress toward listing on the AIM of the London Stock Exchange.”

ERHC expects that an AIM listing will put the Company in a position to access capital in a market that is enthusiastic about emerging oil and gas companies and knowledgeable about West Africa’s oil and gas industry.

ERHC Energy has interests in six of the nine Blocks in the offshore Nigeria-São Tomé & Príncipe Joint Development Zone (JDZ). The Company has additional interests in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé & Príncipe.
